Words That Bring Life

An open Bible with the words "Words that Bring Life" describing the subject of the post.

But during the night, the Lord sent an angel who appeared before them. He supernaturally opened their prison doors and brought the apostles outside. “Go,” the angel told them. “Stand in the temple courts and preach the words that bring life! So early that morning they entered the temple courts and taught the people.

Acts 5:19-20

Go.

Stand.

Preach the words that bring life.

So many words in the world. Words that bring death, and words that bring life. (See Proverbs 18:21). What power we have, we followers of the Word (see John 1). We can preach words that bring life.

Have you ever seen anything brought to life? Have you witnessed the birth of a child? The delight of a blossom appearing overnight from snow-bound earth? The gentle scratch of a bird emerging from a fragile shell? The scuttle of baby turtles making their way out of a sandpit toward the sea?

Life.

That is our privileged power. Souls standing, walking out of sin-bound flesh. The gentle scratch of grace emerging from a shell of legalism. The scuttle of baby belief making its way out of a miry pit of lies toward the sunrise of Hope.

We can preach words that bring life.

During the long night, the Lord sent Jesus to supernaturally open our prison doors and bring us out into freedom. This freedom-gift has a purpose.

Go.

Stand.

Preach the words that bring life.

Even as our enemies scheme to shut our words down, we rise. Unshackled. Unable to be held back. Impossible to extinguish.

Faith such as this cannot be locked away. It cannot be killed. It lives, for the Creator of Life Himself has spoken it into being.

Our God is a consuming fire, and nothing can stop His Life.

So today, Go.

Stand.

Preach the words that bring life. #bebold Share on X
